Job Summary

Castalia Systems is currently searching for a Systems Administrator Senior to support the sustainment of two critical operating systems onsite at JBAB in Washington, DC. This critical position will be a great fit for a driven Systems Administrator/Engineer to join our team.

Roles and Responsibilities

A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:

• Plans and leads major technology assignments.
• Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
• Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
• May supervise others.
• Must have experience with the following principal technologies: Java, Java Persistence API (JPA), Java Web Services (JAX-RS), Java Cryptography Extension (JCE), Hibernate, Spring, JavaScript, Apache Ant, Apache HTTPD, and Apache Tomcat
• Experience working with these Databases: Apache Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and OracleDB
• Proven experience working on these platforms: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, and 9,
• Must have an understanding of FIPS mode, SELinux, firewall daemon (firewalld), file access policy daemon (fapolicyd), and basic system administration

Required Qualifications:

• Shall possess a Master’s degree with 8 years of related experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of related experience with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
• Security+ certification

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficient cloud computing experience
• Proficient digital security experience
• Knowledge of and experience with SQL

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Normal office environment working normal core hours with requirements to come onsite for any unforeseen outages.

Salary at Castalia Systems is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, position knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $190,000.00 to $200,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Castalia Systems’ total compensation package for employees.
